Coca-Cola awards Lynbrook $25,000 as Greis Park tops "America's Favorite Park" list

Town of Hempstead Senior Councilman Anthony J. Santino and Assemblyman Brian Curran joined Mayor William Hendrick and the Lynbrook village board at Greis Park to receive an award from the Coca-Cola Corporation.

Coca-Cola, a publicly traded company company on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: KO), held their national “America’s Favorite Park” contest this summer.  Lynbrook’s Greis Veterans’ Memorial Park was named the third favorite park in the country.

Greis Park was the only park in New York State that was on the nationwide listing.  People logged daily fitness activities, attended field day events, and had good old-fashioned fun outdoors on behalf of national, state and local parks this summer.

All of this active, healthy fun amounted to more than 72,000 hours of activity and more than 1.4 million votes.

The Coca-Cola Corporation awarded the Village of Lynbrook a $25,000 check for coming in Third Place.
