Assemblyman Brian Curran (Lynbrook – 21st A.D.) will be holding a Consumer Fraud Protection Seminar along with New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman’s office.
This public forum will inform residents of useful tips to avoid being a victim of harmful or illegal practices.
The seminar will provide information on how to protect yourself and others while buying used cars, hiring home contractors, obtaining a mortgage, purchasing items online and other activities that put consumers at risk of misleading information.
The New York State Attorney General’s Office prosecutes businesses and individuals engaged in fraudulent, misleading, deceptive, or illegal practices. Part of the Attorney General’s Office mission is to provide information to consumers to seek and ensure a fair and vigorous market place.
