Community Corner

Junior Champions Launch Their Farm to Table Mission

An exciting initiative has hit the area.  Paige (10) and Rylan (8), new Junior Champions of Farmigo, are bringing to the community a new way to shop fresh produce.  The Smith Girls are working on a collaboration with a company named Farmigo to deliver farm-fresh produce of YOUR choosing to our neighborhood. The girls are on a mission to become Young Entrepreneurs while helping the community and staying healthy.

Farmigo allows you to purchase organic and hormone free milk, eggs and fresh produce online, directly from local farmers. It's the perfect marriage between a farmers market and online grocery store!

With this initiative the girls will be donating a portion of the Farmigo earnings to Adolescent Brain Cancer.  They have made it their mission to be healthy and spread the word on the importance of supporting local farms.

Each week members place their orders online at http://www.farmigo.com/thefreshfarmpatch.  Thanks to the help of the owners from "Sip This" in Valley Stream, every Wednesday orders will be waiting for customers to pick up.

Here's how it works:
1.  Visit the Fresh Farm Patch online:
http://www.farmigo.com/thefreshfarmpatch and place your order.
( NO minimum order required, NO member fees & NO delivery fee.)

2.  Place orders by Sunday night, your order is then delivered to Sip This in Valley Stream that Wednesday.

3.  Pick up your order Wednesday between 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Should you have trouble getting there on time I'm happy to hold onto your bag and arrange for another pickup time or we'll come to you and drop them off.  Being that the produce is harvested within 24 hours of delivery, you are also welcome to pick up the following day)

4. Your order becomes a standing order so that you can conveniently
receive fresh produce weekly. Don’t worry, you can make changes to your order or skip a shopping delivery whenever you need.

If you decide to order, we'll be sure to email weekly reminders to update, place or hold an order.  Watch out for recipes and fun information from the girls coming from thefreshfarmpatch@gmail.com!
