Lynbrook Students Have Heart

Students at Marion Street School in Lynbrook showed that they “Have a Heart.” In honor of Heart Month in February, the students participated in a series of activities to support a local organization that provides free medical care to local veterans. Students had the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities, such as crazy hair day, sports jersey day and mismatch day, making a donation for each activity in which they wished to participate. In the culminating event, the select choir, escorted by fifth-grade student council members, visited the cafeteria during lunch periods to deliver singing telegrams. With the help of students and staff members, the school raised a total of $1,219.27 to aid veterans.
