Lynbrook Church Delivers Early Christmas Present to Community

Lynbrook Baptist Church donates more than $1,000 to Community Chest.

Pastor Bob Walderman, of Lynbrook Baptist Church, delivered an early Christmas gift to the community this month.

Rev. Walderman presented a check on behalf of the church in the amount of $1,035 to Laura Ryder for the Lynbrook Community Chest.

The mission of the Lynbrook Community Chest is to raise money to help people in the Village of Lynbrook and only Lynbrook that are experiencing hardship. The Community Chest works with the Village's religious organizations and schools to identify Lynbrook families who are in need.

The Lynbrook Baptist Church has been a part of the community for nearly 100 years. "We seek various ways to minister to our neighbors both spiritually and materially," Walderman told Patch.

The Lynbrook Baptist Church invites the community to its regular Sunday services (10:45 a.m.) and also its Christmas Eve Candle Light service, which will take place at 6 p.m. on Dec. 24. The church is located at 225 Earle Ave., Lynbrook -- at the corner of Peninsula Boulevard.
