Lynbrook Resident Starts Online Fundraiser for Boy With Cancer

A Lynbrook resident's online fundraiser to help a boy with cancer has raised $765, well short of the $15,000 goal.

Liz Schwartz Pearsall started the fundraiser on GoFundMe.com to help Lisa Morgan Rico, whose son is battling cancer and needs to be treated away from home.

The page reads:

"Unfortunately, they have very little insurance and Lisa has no income. It would be easier on their family if he could be treated in Miami instead of Tampa, but whatever insurance he has is not accepted in Miami.

Due to the severity of his pending treatment, she needs to be located no more then 10 minutes from the hospital where he will be treated. Lisa is in dire need of enough money to allow her to rent a car, gas, hotel/motel/efficiency, food and all other living expenses to allow her to stay with her son for almost four months.

I'm begging all of you, can you all PLEASE help me help her save her son?"
