Looking for a new home or just curious to see what houses in your neighborhood are on the market, and what their owners' are asking for them?

There are 20 available homes in Malverne, West Hempstead and Lynbrook holding open houses this weekend. The most expensive of these properties is a four bedroom Colonial in Lynbrook that's listed for $554,900. The least expensive home being shown this weekend is a four bedroom Cape, also in Lynbrook, that is listed at $349,000.

Nice thought & nice homes but...most of these houses would go for roughly $200,000-$250,000 or even less outside of NY. Not to mention the taxes being 1/10th the cost. Its sad that LI is driving away its native youth & being "abandoned" but this is why. If this is considered reasonable than LIers should consider what the rest of the country has to offer. Maybe then, LI will make their towns more affordable & entice their natives to "come home".
