Young Malvernite debuts new performing group.

Malvernite Daniel Higgins has appeared on stage and television and can now add gazebo to the list.

The 16-year-old thespian and student at Holy Trinity Diocesan High School in Hicksville has been featured in shows around Long Island and even made it to the finals of MSG Varsity's recent talent competition.

On July 16 though he showcased his talents, along with those of his peers, in his hometown, where he performed some of William Shakespeare's classic works in the village's Reese Park.

It was the debut of a new theatrical group that Higgins and his friends recently formed. The young artists brought some of the Bard's famous characters to life - Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, MacBeth, Marc Antony and many others - in the outdoor venue.

They even took their act into the street, across the lawn and nearly on top of the audience to engage them throughout the Saturday evening show.

You can also catch Higgins and many of the other performers in a production of Footloose the Musical this week at St. Paul’s Centerstage Theatre (205 Jackson Avenue, Syosset). Showtimes are 8 p.m. on July 21 - 23 and 2 p.m. on July 24.
