Local Florists for Mother's Day

Seeking a place to order flowers? Look no further than Patch.com.

Did you know that Mother’s Day has been celebrated in the United States since 1909?

The annual celebration of mothers was started by Anna Jarvis from Grafton, W.Va. She wanted to accomplish her own mother’s dream of making a celebration for all mothers.

It was made officially a holiday in 1914 by President Woodrow Wilson.

Mother’s Day is one of the biggest days for sales of flowers, greeting cards, jewelry, and it is also the largest holiday for long-distance phone calls.

Are you thinking of sending Mom some flowers this year? Many florists are having Mother’s Day specials. Check with each florist or website for their specific details. Make sure to place your orders early.
