Although most shops in Malverne and West Hempstead will be closed on Christmas, there will be a few that will keep their doors opened.
So in case you need to run out for batteries, a carton of milk or other essentials on Dec. 25, these stores will have their lights on.
Both stores in West Hempstead - on Hempstead Avenue and Hempstead Turnpike will be open for business as usual. West Hempstead's two stores will also be open, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
You won't have to go without your morning coffee or bagel from or in West Hempstead on Dec. 25. The Malverne Bagels will open as usual at 5:30 a.m. and close between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. Bagel Town will open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. will also be open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Christmas Day in case you need a sandwich or snack for yourself, or a last-minute fixin for your party.
If you aren't celebrating Christmas or just don't feel like cooking dinner, restaurant in West Hempstead will be open from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. or you can still get a pizza slice or pie from in West Hempstead, which will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
If your holiday gathering ends early, head over to the bar at in Malverne, which will open at 8 p.m. on Christmas. (Its kitchen will stay closed.)
