Quiznos, Green Olive Pizza & Restaurant Open in Lynbrook

Green Olive offering free pizza on Wednesday.

Just in time for the summer months, the Lynbrook business community is welcoming two new eateries in its downtown area.

As most people already know from the signs on Merrick Road, Quiznos reopened on Tuesday at Lynbrook's Five Corners. The popular sandwich shop has been remodeled and is already doing great business.

Not far behind is the Green Olive Pizza & Restaurant, scheduled to fully open on Thursday. This new restaurant is located in Philips Plaza, where the former Pizzeria Uno used to be.

And while it's not open for full eat-in dining just yet, manager Antonio Quatrano says the restaurant will be offering free slices of pizza for all until 10 p.m. on Wednesday.

"We're excited to see people coming in and be happy," he said. "We want to introduce ourselves with a soft opening and just let people know we're here."

One person happy to see the new businesses is Bill Gaylor, president of the Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce.

"I will be the first to tell you: the people that own [Green Olive] have put an awful lot into it — it's gonna be a great asset," he said, though he expressed some concern for the lack of parking available in Philips Plaza. As for Quiznos, "I'm glad to see it back in business."
