This Week's Lowest Local Gas Prices

Every Monday, Patch steers you to the gas pumps in Malverne and West Hempstead with the lowest prices.

Two stations took top prize this week for charging only $3.07 per gallon for regular gasoline, the lowest price in the area. They were the OK station on Westminster Road and the American station on Hempstead Avenue, both in West Hempstead. To get these rates you'll need to pay cash. In fact, this is the only payment accepted at American.

The best option for those who prefer to fill up using their credit cards is the in Malverne on Hempstead Avenue, across from Grossman's farm. This station has regular gas for only a couple of cents more per gallon, $3.09, and advertises that it charges the same price for cash and credit purchases.

The station in West Hempstead on Hempstead Avenue, also has regular for $3.09 per gallon, but only if you pay with cash. Use a credit card and the price jumps to $3.15 per gallon.

If you're looking for plus or premium/super gas, cash customers will find the lowest prices at the  the OK in West Hempstead, which is charging $3.17 for plus and $3.27for super.If you need to pay with plastic, steer your car to the Getty in Malverne, where plus is $3.19 per gallon and super is $3.22, regardless of how you pay.

We found the highest prices this week once again at the station across from Hall's Pond on Nassau Boulevard, which had the highest prices for regular, plus and super gas this week, $3.15 per gallon for regular, $3.39 per gallon for plus and $3.49 per gallon for supreme, and these were the prices if you paid with cash, meaning credit card users should expect to may more. Also, on the higher end, was the Mobil station on Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead, which is asking for $3.13 per gallon for regular, $3.27 for plus and $3.35 for super, and this is if you pay cash and pump your own gas.
