The village of Malverne added a new neighbor to its collection of businesses along Hempstead Avenue.
Uva Rossa, Malverne’s newest restaurant, officially opened its doors Saturday afternoon with a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony.
Malverne Mayor Patricia Norris McDonald, Assemblyman Brain Curran, R-Lynbrook, and members of the Malverne Board of Trustees were on hand to assist in the ribbon cutting and welcome the wine bar restaurant, located at 243 Hempstead Ave., into the community.
Uva Rossa was opened by local restaurateur Antonio Bove, owner of the poplar eateries Antonio’s Italian-American Deli and Il Villagio Trattoria Italiana.
The restaurant serves a wide array of tapas and wines, emphasizing “the beauty of small plates.”
Uva Rossa takes over the property where Cork N’ Board operated for 25 years.
