West Hempstead Loses Another Gas Station
Mobil on Westminster Road and Hempstead Turnpike shuts down.
Vacant gas stations are becoming a more common sighting in West Hempstead.
There's the shuttered station on Hempstead Avenue, across from and the one on the corner of Nassau Boulevard near the shut down just months after re-opening. And now the Mobil station on the corner of Hempstead Turnpike and Westminster Road, across from yet another vacant plot that once housed a gas station, has gone out of business too.
It's not known at this time why the self-serve station recently shut down, but it was among the highest priced pumps in West Hempstead.
