The following are five things you need to know today in Lynbrook and/or on Patch:
1 — The rain continues today, with a chance of thunderstorms. Temperature is expected to be up around 56 degrees.

3 — The Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce has several events planned over the next few months. See what the business organization is up to in a Patch story we have running later today.
4 — Boys lacrosse travels to Skelos Field in Rockville Centre to take on the South Side Cyclones at 7 p.m. The baseball team will host Glen Cove at 4:30 p.m. at Marion Street School.
5 — The Village of Lynbrook is receiving two 20-foot pieces of steel from the wreckage of the Twin Towers to be included as part of the village's 9/11 memorial. Patch will have that story later today.
