Aug. 11: WTC Steel Erected at 9/11 Memorial, Car Show, Open Houses

Five things you need to know today in Lynbrook.

The following are five things you need to know today in Lynbrook and/or on Patch:

1 — Sunny skies are expected on Thursday, with a high temperature near 82 degrees. The mercury drops almost 20 degrees in the evening, with a low of around 63 degrees.

2 — Yesterday afternoon, two steel beams from the wreckage of the World Trade Center's twin towers were erected at Lynbrook's 9/11 memorial. Later today, Lynbrook Patch will have photos and a video report of the emotional event.

3 — Every Thursday on Lynbrook Patch, we'll be posting a guide to open houses being featured in the village. Details include a description of the home and the asking price. Look out for the article later today.

4 — If it's Thursday night in Lynbrook, that means there's a car show in the parking lot between Atlantic Avenue and Forest Avenue. From 6-8 p.m., check out the vintage cars owned by locals.
