Cops Search for Purse-Snatcher After Lakeview Attack

Cops are looking for an unidentified man accused of attacking and attempting to rob a young woman in Lakeview on Monday.

According to detectives with the Nassau County Police, a 24-year-old female victim was approached by an unknown black male around 7:53 p.m. on March 1 while walking in the vicinity of Pinebrook Avenue and Keuka Road.

The woman told police that the man grabbed her pocketbook and struck her in the face repeatedly. She refused to surrender her bag and her attacker fled the scene on foot without any loot.

The victim suffered minor pain to her mouth and chin, but cops say she refused medical attention at the scene. There is no further description of the subject.
