  2. Village Board Meets: The Malverne village board will hold its regular monthly meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be televised but if you can't watch, check Patch later tonight to find out what occurred.
  3. Photo Hunt: Think you know Malverne and West Hempstead? Test your wits today at 11 a.m. in our photo hunt contest by telling us where this week's image was shot in the neighborhood.
  4. Green Team: Today is the last day to drop off your paper and cardboard at the recycling bin at West Hempstead Middle School to earn money for the district while helping the environment. Tonight the district's Green Team will also hold a meeting at 7 p.m. in the middle school cafeteria.
  5. Tree Pick-up: Is your Christmas tree turning brown? Malverne residents can place their real Christmas trees out on Wednesdays. It will be collected as yard waste. West Hempstead residents will have to wait till next Wednesday, Jan. 11, when the Town of Hempstead's sanitation department will pick up Christmas trees and wreaths. They'll also collect them on Jan. 25.
