We survived 'doomsday' and so another week begins in Malverne and West Hempstead. With it comes news of a burglary arrest, progress at the Courtesy Hotel site and some relief from the rising gas prices. Plus more local news.

  1. W. Hempstead Man Arrested: A 23-year-old West Hempstead man turned himself into police Sunday evening after threatening his landlord at knifepoint. He was charged with burglary. Get the full story here.
  2. Courtesy Demo Continues: It's been over a week since demolition started on the Courtesy Hotel and significant progress has been made since the initial vehicles tore into the infamous establishment.
  3. Sports Awards: The student-athletes that competed in spring sports for will be honored tonight during a special awards ceremony. The program will start at 7:30 p.m. at the High School.
