Patch Poll: Children and Santa Claus

How would you feel if someone told your child there was no Santa Claus?

Earlier this month, Leatrice Ann Eng, a second grade teacher at George W. Miller Elementary School in Nanuet, N.Y., told her students that there was no Santa Claus during a geography lesson about the North Pole.

After disappointing several students and angering their parents, Eng came out and apologized.

In another incident last week, Fox News Chicago anchor Robin Robinson told her co-host that Santa did not exist on live television.

"Stop trying to convince your kids that Santa is Santa," Robinson said. "That's why they have these high expectations. They know you can't afford it, so what do they do? Just ask some man in a red suit. There is no Santa."

If someone told your child that there was no Santa, how would you feel? Would you be angry or do you feel that children should be told the truth? Take the poll or comment below.
