  1. Malverne Legal Counsel: The Malverne school board held a special meeting on Thursday to vote on two items pertaining to legal representation and personnel. Click here to get the story.
  2. W.H. Board Meets: The West Hempstead Board of Education will hold a special business meeting at 7 a.m. today at the central office on Chestnut Street. The board will consider and vote on one docket item pertaining to a personnel matter.
  3. Grand Opening: Another new West Hempstead pizza joint, Nino's on Hempstead Avenue, is holding its grand opening today. After a ribbon cutting ceremony, they will hold a free buffet for the community from noon to 3 p.m. for details.
  4. Sentencing Postponed: A West Hempstead man who pled guilty in March to vehicular assault and driving under the influence of drugs, was expected to be sentenced Tuesday, but his case has been adjourned. Get the story today.
  5. Gospel Jam: Top local choirs and gospel singers will perform tonight in Hempstead at Union Baptist Church.
