  1. Crime Report:See what burglaries, thefts, vandalism and other crimes happened around the neighborhood this week. Look out for the report later this morning.
  2. Blood Drive: There will be a blood drive from 2:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the West Hempstead Public Library. If you can, come out and donate. Long Island's blood supply is because of Hurricane Irene. 
  3. Irene Heroes: Although Hurricane Irene caused much destruction across the East Coast, it also brought out the best in people. If you know someone in the community you would consider a 'Hurricane Irene hero' email Tara.Conry@Patch.com.
  4. Outage Update: Many residents in Malverne, West Hempstead and Lakeview are still without power because of Hurricane Irene. Stay with Patch for updates.
