Robert Troiano Prevails in 2nd L.D. Race

Incumbent legislator elected to his third two-year term.

Democrat Robert Troiano was elected to his third two-year term as 2nd district legislator Tuesday, according to unofficial results from the Nassau County Board of Elections.

With 100 percent of districts reporting, Troiano has received 6,440 votes while his opponent, Republican Pepitz Blanchard, of New Cassel, received 1,149 votes.

Troiano currently serves on the Minority Affairs, Government Services & Operations, Health & Social Services and Towns, Villages, Cities committees.

He is a former Town of North Hempstead councilman. Before beginning his career in government, he served as treasurer and senior vice president of Prudential Securities.

Blanchard, an active member of the Nassau County Auxiliary Police Officer Unit, said he "grew wary of the Nassau County brand of Democrats, especially concerning the continuous property tax increases."
