Lynbrook West End Students Give Thanks

Students also collected more than 12 boxes of canned and dried goods for the food drive.

Story by Rosemary Leonetti

In honor of Thanksgiving, members of the student council of West End School in Lynbrook asked fellow students the question, "What are you thankful for?"

Students wrote their reasons for being thankful on colorful paper feathers. Student council members then pinned the feathers on a "featherful" turkey display that greets the students as they enter the building to remind them of what Thanksgiving is all about.

The student council also organized a food drive for the Mary Brennan INN, collecting more than 12 boxes of canned and dried goods. Students worked under the direction of advisers Lori Gus and Jacqueline McDougal.
