Highest Homes Sales in Malverne, West Hempstead and Lynbrook

These homes sold for the most money in 2012.

Although the housing market is still trying to recover from its bubble burst in 2008, there were many home sales in Malverne, West Hempstead and Lynbrook in 2012.

Across the three communities, the highest sale was a 10-room Colonial located at 669 Colonade Rd. in West Hempstead. This home, which has five bedrooms and four full bathrooms, sold on Aug. 29 for $750,000. Built in 1951, the house features a rear patio, formal dining room, fireplace, central air conditioning and a full unfinished basement. Taxes are $13,907.

The most expensive home sold in Malverne during the year was a seven-room Colonial located at 59 Slabey Ave. The house, which includes three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms, was built in 1949. It sold on June 12 for $590,000. The house includes a fireplace, central air conditioning and an inground pool. Taxes were estimated at $14,300. 

And in Lynbrook, the biggest sale took place on July 17, when a nine-room Colonial located at 21 Marshall Ave. sold for $570,000. The home, built in 1952, has three bedrooms, three full bathrooms, a two-car garage, porch, deck, home office, formal dining room, wood floors and central air conditioning. Taxes are $10,481.
