Valley Stream South High School Teens Set To Strike Out Cancer

Valley Stream South High School students host "South Strikes Out Cancer" softball event Friday, June 8th to raise funds for teachers recently stricken with Cancer.

From time to time, I accept guest bloggers on ValleyStreamMom.com so when this information came in from a Valley Stream teen, I did not hesitate.  I'm always happy to highlight kids in the community who are making a hugt impact.  Kaitlyn Seager is definitely someone to watch.

On Friday June 8, Valley Stream South High School will be hosting a softball game played by South's faculty titled "South Strikes Out Cancer" Three seniors including myself, Ashley Bruno, and Vincent Cavello, have planned this event in order to raise money for Breast Cancer research. Within the last 8 weeks or so at South High School, two very dear teachers have been diagnosed with the terrible disease and we are running a community event with food, raffles, prizes, and an awesome softball game in order to honor all of those staff members who have had to battle breast cancer.

The festival starts at 3 p.m., and the game starts at 3:30 or so. There will be music, food, raffles, prizes, and lots more. It is free to get in, but donations are always welcome. All proceeds will be donated to the Hewlett House, a local organization that is dedicated to provide patients and their families with a warm and welcoming place to obtain resources and education.
