Two cars crashed into one another and then slammed into the same tree along the Southern State Parkway in West Hempstead early Saturday morning.
The Lakeview Volunteer Fire Department responded to the accident, which occurred just before Exit 18 (Eagle Avenue) and slowed traffic for about 30 minutes. Chief Michael Koppel was in command.
One person needed to be transported to Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre.
