Bullets Strike Home, Vehicles in Lakeview

Police investigating gunfire on Ostego Road Monday.

Shots rang out in Lakeview Monday evening, striking one residence, five vehicles and a fence on Ostego Road.

Nassau County Police received a report of gunshots around 4:20 p.m. on Oct. 8 and several patrol cars responded. Ostego Road was shut down for roughly three hours as detectives conducted an investigation.

The investigation revealed that one residence, five vehicles and a PVC fence had been struck by gunshots. Prior to police arrival, two unknown black males wearing black-hooded sweatshirts and black pants were observed discharging black handguns. The suspects entered a newer model silver-colored Cadillac and fled the scene southbound on Ontario Road. No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.

Detectives request anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.

Lakeview has turned into a ghetto war zone. It wasn't like this many years ago. I'm so glad we didn't move there.

this is what happens when the ghetto people from the city start moving into a nice neighborhood. they just cant act civilized then people wonder why all the white people move , known as the white flight . what a shame.

That’s very nice that school districts that have the highest school taxes and costs, areRead More receiving additional money. The problem is that our state is in dire financial trouble and we can’t afford it. Upstate NY is a distressed disaster. How much more taxes are we going to pay?. Hear those feet marching out of state. Try fighting for drilling so we have jobs and revenue.

.......there they go again whitewashing a dilemma they don't want to touch......unconscionableRead More salaries and pensions paid by the taxpayer for incompetence? Not to mention 13 week vacations as well as numerous 1/2 days and weather shortened days. A $50000 band aid we end up paying indirectly anyway only increases taxes further down the road. They are either that stupid or they think we are!
