Child Among Injured in 2-Car Crash in West Hempstead

Accident occurs on Hempstead Avenue Wednesday afternoon.

Two people, including a child, were injured Wednesday afternoon in a two-car crash on Hempstead Avenue in West Hempstead.

A car entering the roadway northbound struck another car traveling southbound near Roosevelt Boulevard, severing one of its tires. Two people in one vehicle, including a small child, were injured and required medical treatment from EMS peronnel. They were transported to a nearby hospital. The extent of their injuries is not known at this time.

Nassau County Police were on the scene to secure the accident site. They closed Hempstead Avenue in both directions for a short time.
