Cops Arrest Hempstead Man for Knifepoint Robberies

Brian T. Joseph charged with robbing West Hempstead 7-Eleven and other commercial properties.

Nassau County Police arrested a Hempstead man who they say is responsible for a series of knifepoint robberies including the one committed last Thursday at a 7-Eleven store in West Hempstead.

The Robbery Squad along with the First Squad arrested Brian T. Joseph, 22, on Wednesday at 11:19 a.m. without incident. Police say he allegedly robbed the 7-Eleven located at 310 Hempstead Ave. on Sept. 13 at 2 a.m., threatening a store clerk with a knife and stealing cash. (This was the second time the store had been robbed in the past month.) Cops say Joseph is also linked to a pattern of knifepoint commercial robberies in Nassau County that began on Feb. 14.

Joseph is charged with eight counts of first-degree Robbery, one count of third-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, and one count of fourth-degree Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. He will be arraigned on Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
