Crime Report: Diamond Ring Stolen, Identity Theft

Recent case reports and arrests in the Lynbrook area.

The following information was supplied by the Lynbrook Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Arrests

Jan. 9 - at 10:25pm, Hakeem Williams, 38 of Kissimmee, FL, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and operating without a license plate light on Peninsula Blvd.

Jan. 12 - at 12:05 pm, Kadeem Kevin Josephs, 22, of Rosedale, NY was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Merrick Road.

Jan. 13 - at 4:19am, Ashraf M. E. Hammam, 20, of Garden City Park, was arrested and charged with DWI and obstructing an intersection on Peninsula Blvd.

Jan. 13 - at 10:22pm, Jose O. Sanchez, 40, of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, speeding and circumvention of interlock device on Peninsula Blvd. The defendant did have a restriction on his license requiring any vehicle they operate have an ignition interlock device installed, which required that person to give a breath sample before the vehicle would start.

Jan. 16 - at 11:35pm, Lemus Gerson Monge, 40, of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with failure to appear (warrant) on Ocean Ave.

Jan. 16 - at 12:55am, Neil I. Presser, 19 of Hewlett, NY was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Peninsula Blvd.

Case Reports

Grand Larceny – At 10:48pm on Jan. 11, the complainant reports that someone removed a Platinum band Two Carat Diamond ring. The ring was taken from the victim’s residence on Noble Street and valued at $7,500.

Petty Larceny – At 10:30am on Jan. 12, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) removed two NYS Inspection Stickers from Mavis Discount Tire 407 Ocean Ave. The stickers were removed sometime in Nov. of 2011 and valued at $8.

Identity Theft- At 5:30pm on Jan. 12, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) opened up a Chase credit card with their personal information and then charged $600 to the account. The complainant resides on Davison Ave.
