Crime Report: More Tire and Rim Thefts in Lynbrook

The following is Lynbrook's weekly crime report, as submitted by village police. All information is courtesy of the Lynbrook Police Department.

Arrests

  • On Feb. 25 at 9:45 p.m., Nicholas McCarthy, 30, of Hempstead, N.Y., was arrested on Peninsula Boulevard in Lynbrook and charged with DWI.
  • On Feb. 26 at 5:31 a.m., Enrry Rodriguez, 27, of Far Rockaway, N.Y., was arrested on Broadway in Lynbrook and charged with DWI.
  • On Feb. 27 at 9:04 p.m., Dayton Watson, 39, of Raleigh, N.C., was arrested on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

  • Between the hours of 1 p.m. on Feb. 24 and 11:45 a.m. on Feb. 25, unknown suspects removed a safe, which reportedly contained $1,500, from a business on Broadway in Lynbrook.
  • On Feb. 24 at 1 p.m., a complainant reported that a laptop bag containing his $1,200 laptop and prescription medication was stolen from the waiting room on the platform of the Lynbrook train station.
  • Between the hours of 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 26 and 12 p.m. on Feb. 28, $3,700 worth of tires and rims were reported stolen from a 2011 Toyota, parked at Advantage Toyota on Merrick Road in Lynbrook.
