Crime Watch: Home Burglary, Car Thefts at Mall

The following arrest information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Burglary

A home on Adams Avenue in West Hempstead was burglarized on July 27.

The Elmont Super store on Meacham Avenue in Elmont was burglarized overnight on July 26 to July 27.

The Cards for Less store on New Hyde Park Road in Franklin Square was burglarized on July 31.

Grand Larceny

Two cars were stolen in Elmont overnight on July 26 to July 27. One had been parked on Sweetman Avenue, the other on Woolworth Street.

A car was stolen from the parking lot of Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream on July 27. Around the same time, an unknown person also stole items from another vehicle that was parked at the mall.

Tires and rims were stolen from two vehicles parked in Lakeview - one on Woodfield Road, the other on Pershing Boulevard - overnight on July 29 to July 29.

A jet ski and trailer that had been parked in front of a house on Polk Avenue in Franklin Square were reported stolen on July 30.

A car was stolen on July 30 while parked on Sunrise Highway in Valley Stream.

A car was stolen sometime between July 27 and July 29 while parked on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont.

Other Thefts

An unknown person broke the driver's side window of a car parked on Academy Place in West Hempstead overnight on July 26 to July 27 and removed items from the vehicle.

A GPS was among some of the items reported stolen from a vehicle parked on Hamilton Avenue in West Hempstead overnight on July 30 to July 31.

A woman on Cochran Place in Valley Stream reported on July 27 that her son's bicycle had been stolen.

Property, including a GPS, was reported stolen from two unlocked vehicles parked on Gordon Road in Valley Stream on July 26 to July 27.

Items were reported stolen from a car parked on Frederick Avenue in Elmont on July 26 to July 27.

Criminal Mischief

A woman reported that an unknown person scratched the driver's side of her vehicle while it was parked on Langdon Boulevard in Lakeview on July 28.

An unkown person slashed the soft convertible top on the passenger side of a car parked on Doherty Avenue in Elmont between July 28 and July 30.
