Crime Watch: 2 Arrested for Illegal Massage, Car Stolen in Lakeview

CRIMINAL UNAUTHORIZED PRACTICE

In response to community complaints, the Problems Oriented Policing/PEP Office conducted a joint investigation with the Narcotics/Vice Squad at two West Hempstead businesses, Acupuncture Oriental Body Work and Relaxation Day Spa, both located on Hempstead Turnpike. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Jiejing Zhao and Jianxin You, both Flushing residents, for unlicensed massage. A total of 10 summonses were also issued by the Town of Hempstead Building Department.

BURGLARIES

USA Full Service Gas and Convenience located on Sunrise Highway in Valley Stream was burglarized on April 5.

On April 5, a burglary also occurred at an Elmont home located on 240th Street.

GRAND LARCENIES

A car was stolen in Lakeview on April 9 while parked on Cleveland Street.

Between April 4 and April 5, a car that had been parked at the corner of Beverly Place and Foster Avenue in Valley Stream was stolen.

A car was stolen on April 7 while parked on Elizabeth Street in North Valley Stream.

PETIT LARCENIES

Two tires and rims were stolen off a vehicle parked on Dekoven Street in Lakeview on April 3.

An unknown subject broke the front passenger window of a vehicle parked on Hancock Street in Elmont on April 6 and removed personal items.

The owner of a vehicle that had been parked on Kruze Street in Franklin Square between April 6 and April 7 reported that items had been stolen from the car, which he says had been locked. There were no signs of forcible entry.

An unknown person removed lug nuts from the passenger side tire of a vehicle that had been parked at Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream on April 7.

CRIMINAL MICHIEF

Four windows and a patio table in the backyard of an Elmont home on Hunnewell Avenue were reportedly damaged on April 3 by an unknown suspect.

PROHIBITED SALE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE

In response to community complaints, the Problems Oriented Policing/PEP Office conducted investigations on April 4 into the sale of alcohol to underage persons at three Elmont businesses. Officers arrested Andre Balley, of St. Albans, at the Citgo gas station located on Linden Boulevard, Xinming Chen, of Flushing, at Tudor Wine and Liquor on Elmont Road and Imran Alli, of Manhasset Hills, at the Shell gas station on Linden Boulvard. The arresting officers observed the three defendants allegedly selling alcoholic beverages to an underage agent working for the police without asking for indentification of age.
