Crime Watch: 2 Arrested for 'Illegal Massage,' Lakeview Home Burglarized

A look at crimes that occurred in the neighborhood this week.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Unauthorized Practice

Two people were arrested on Nov. 30 at a spa in Franklin Square,* located at 798 Hempstead Turnpike, after Nassau County's POP Office and Vice Squad conducted an investigation relating to illegal massage. Hui Lan Li, of California, and Hyun Jung Park, of Flushing, were both arrested, and 14 summonses were issued by the Town of Hempstead Building Department.

Burglaries

A home on Clinton Avenue in Lakeview was burglarized on Dec. 2.

Two homes were burglarized on Nov. 29 - one on Frederic Avenue in South Floral Park and another on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont.

There were two burglary attempts in Elmont this week, one on Barbara Street on Nov. 30 and one on Clay Street on Dec. 3.

Grand Larcenies

Vehicles were stolen from multiple locations in Elmont between Nov. 29 and Dec. 3. They had been parked on Greenway Boulevard, Stewart Street and at the Sunoco/Squeaky Clean Car Wash on Linden Boulevard. Cars were also stolen from the Belmont Race Track on Hempstead Turnpike between Sept. 15 and Nov. 29.

A car was stolen from the driveway of a home on Broadway in Valley Stream

Tires and rims were stolen off a vehicle parked in the driveway of a home on Porter Street in Elmont on Dec. 3. The car was found placed on blocks.

Larceny/Theft Offenses

Items were stolen from a vehicle parked on Windsor Lane in West Hempstead on Nov. 29.

Criminal Mischief

An unknown person broke the glass window to a storm door of a home on Biltmore Avenue in Elmont on Nov. 29.

A woman reported that an unknown suspect shattered her rear car window while she was sitting inside the car while on Franklin Avenue in Franklin Square on Dec. 1.

The owner of a vehicle that had been parked on S. Grove Street in Valley Stream on Dec. 3 reported that all four tires had been slashed by an unknown person, who also keyed the right side of the car.

An unknown person broke off the driver's side mirror of a vehicle parked on St. Johns Place in Franklin Square on Dec. 3.

Between Dec. 4 and Dec. 5, an unknown person reportedly damaged a fence located on Cedar Street in Elmont.

Graffiti

A woman in Elmont reported that an unknown person spray-painted her car and home, which is located on Roquette Avenue, on Nov. 28.
