Crime Watch: DWI Arrest, Homes and Businesses Burglarized

The following arrest information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

DWI:

Lindsay Gartner, age 21 of Malverne, was arrested on June 14 while driving on Sunrise Highway near Hewlett Avenue, Merrick. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and one violation of the vehicle and traffic law.

Home Burglaries:

A Malverne home on King Street was reportedly burglarized at some point during the week of June 6 to June 15.

A Valley Stream home located on Dean Street was burglarized on June 13.

Three homes in Elmont - two on Hoffman Avenue and one on Crystal Street - were burglarized on June 14 and 15.

A Franklin Square home on Benris Avenue was also burglarized on June 14.

Business Burglaries:

New Wok Buffet in West Hempstead, located on Hempstead Turnpike, was burglarized overnight on June 14-15.

Jack and Jill Stationary in West Hempstead, also located on Hempstead Turnpike, was burglarized on June 19.

Two Elmont businesses on Meacham Avenue were burglarized. The first incident occurred at Elmont Farms Supermarket overnight on June 14 to 15, and the second at Kave Bar and Grill on June 17.

The Franklin Square Parks Department also reported that the snack shack located in Averill Park was burglarized on the night of June 16 to 17.

Grand Larcenies:

A motorcyle was stolen from the driveway of a Lakeview home located on Jerfferson Avenue on June 18.

A Lakeview resident reported that various items had been stolen from her home located on Pinebrook Court on June 12. There were no apparent signs of forced entry.

Four tires and times were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in North Valley Stream, in front of a home on Valpark Avenue, on June 15.

Three victims in Valley Stream reported that items were stolen from their vehicles between June 14 and June 16. The cars had been parked on Rockaway Avenue, Wilson Road and Fletcher Avenue.

A vehicle was stolen from a location on Hempstead Turnpike in Franklin Square on June 15.

Other Larcenies/Thefts:

A woman in Lakeview reported that items had been stolen from her unlocked vehicle while parked on Rose Avenue overnight on June 13 to 14.

Criminal Mischief:

Two victims in Elmont reported that an unidentified person(s) caused damage to their vehicles on the night of June 18. The first incident ocurred on Village Avenue, where the car's passenger side front window was shattered and the second on Kromer Road, where a driver's side mirror was found broken.

Two cars in Franklin Square were also damaged by unknown subjects. The first incident occurred on June 14 on Franklin Avenue, where the vehicle's owner reported damage to the driver's side window, and the second on June 19 on Oaks Drive, where two tires were punctured.

A vehicle was reportedly keyed while parked on Arthur Avenue in South Floral Park on June 10 to June 12.
