Crime Watch: Lakeview Home Burglary, Motorcycle Stolen in West Hempstead

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police and New York State Police. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Burglaries

A Lakeview home located on Saranac Road was burglarized between Sept. 27 and Oct. 15.

Three Elmont homes - two located on Diamond Street and one on Pine Street- were burglarized between Oct. 11 and Oct. 14.

A North Valley Stream home located on S. Jaspet Street was burglarized on Oct. 14.

Grand Larcenies

A motorcycle was stolen on Oct. 13 while parked in the driveway of a home on Poplar Street in West Hempstead.

Items were stolen from a car parked on Elmont Road in Elmont on Oct. 17. According to police, the owner of the vehicle returned to her car to find someone had broken the passenger side window and took several items that had been inside.

Tires and Rims

A tire was stolen off of a car parked on Dogwood Road in Valley Stream on Oct. 11. According to police, the victim heard his car's alarm go off twice. When he looked outside, he saw a tire propped along his neighbor's face and called 911. An investigation is ongoing.

A total of six tires and rims were stolen off of vehicles parked on Barbara Street, N Street and Meacham Street in Elmont. The incidents occurred on Oct. 12, Oct. 14 and Oct. 15.

Larceny and Other Thefts

An iPod and GPS device were stolen from a car parked on Barbara Lane in Lakeview on Oct. 13.

A pocketbook was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked on Ossipee Road in Lakeview on Oct. 15.

Criminal Mischief

An unknown suspect removed the rear windshield wiper and front driver's side windshield wiper off of a car parked on S. Montague Street in Valley Stream on Oct. 12. The perp also damaged the driver's side-view mirror.
