RVC Ramada Inn Robbed at Gunpoint

Police are searching for a suspect who robbed the Rockville Centre Ramada Inn at gunpoint early Friday morning.

According to Nassau County detectives, around 4:47 a.m., a 39-year-old male employee was working the front desk of the Ramada Inn, located at 1000 Sunrise Highway, when an unknown male black suspect walked in displaying a silver handgun.

The suspect demanded money and fled the scene eastbound on Sunrise Highway after police said he obtained an undetermined amount of cash from the register.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as 6-feet tall, approximately 225 pounds, wearing a white scarf over his face, green jacket, white shirt and black pants.

Arrests

  • On May 31 at 1:04 a.m., Imani Rochester, 22, of Freeport, was arrested for criminal possession of a forged instrument following an investigation by police personnel in the vicinity of King Kullen, located at 127 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.

  • On June 1 at 2:14 a.m., Ryan J. Neuls, 25, of Levittown, was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree and vehicle and traffic law violations following an investigation by police personnel in the vicinity of Merrick Road and N. Lewis Place in Rockville Centre.

  • On June 2 at 7:36 p.m., Andreas P. Kahan, 37, of Port Washington, was arrested for making graffiti, possession of graffiti instruments and criminal mischief in the fourth degree following an investigation by police personnel in the vicinity of Municipal Parking Field No. 3 and the LIRR in Rockville Centre.

  • On June 5, joint investigation between the Garden City Police Department and the Adelphi University Public Safety Department resulted in the arrest of a 24-year-old male from Astoria for two counts of burglary, possession of a weapon (brass knuckles) and burglary tools. The suspect had entered two different buildings on the Adelphi’s campus and removed four flushometers. Further investigation revealed that the suspect may be responsible for numerous similar thefts on college campuses throughout Queens, Nassau and Suffolk counties.

  • On June 5, a Garden City police officer stopped a 41-year-old male from Westbury for aggressive driving on Washington Avenue. Upon an investigation, the driver was arrested for DWI (.09 percent blood alcohol content), driving with a suspended license, three unsafe turn/lane violations and uninsured operation.

ABC Violation

  • On May 31 at 8:03 p.m., Leonardo Moran, 44, of Rockville Centre, was issued an appearance ticket for ABC violations “Required Signs Not Posted” and “License Not Properly Framed” following an investigation by police personnel at N. Park Deli, located at 149 N. Park Ave. in Rockville Centre.

Burglary

  • On May 30 at 5:25 p.m., a complainant from S. Forest Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between 10:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., an unknown person(s) damaged a rear door, entered the residence and stole assorted jewelry.

Assault

  • On June 2 at 4:33 a.m., two male complainants from Oceanside reported that four unknown males, operating a motor vehicle southeast on Lincoln Avenue in Rockville Centre, stopped and assaulted the victims resulting in injuries requiring medical attention at South Nassau Communities Hospital.

Traffic

  • On June 5, a Garden City police officer was conducting traffic enforcement on Stewart Avenue when he cited a 35-year-old male from Sayville for speeding at Wellington Avenue (45 mph), driving with three license suspensions and uninsured operation. The subject’s vehicle was also impounded. Another operator was cited for speeding in a school zone (70 mph in a 20-mph zone) in front of Garden City Middle School.
