Homeless Teen Arrested for String Of Burglaries

When charged with Friday's burglary, a police investigation revealed Ivey was allegedly responsible for several others in Lakeview.

Nassau Police arrested a homeless teenager Sunday, charging him for burglarizing a Lakeview home last week.

During the investigation it was discovered that Michael J. Ivey was responsible for three other burglaries in the Lakeview area dating back to May 30.

Most recently, Ivey, 18, reportedly entered the Barbara Lane home Friday through a rear window. He allegedly stole property, cash and a credit card before fleeing in an unknown direction. No one was home at the time of the incident.

Ivey was located and placed under arrest on Sunday at 3:35 p.m. at 8 Rhodes Lane without incident.

Ivey is charged with four counts of Burglary 2nd degree and will be arraigned on Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
