UPDATE: Missing Lakeview Senior Citizen Found

Police seek public's help in locating 82-year-old Wilfred Walker.

Update: July 12 at 7 p.m. Nassau County Police report that the missing Lakeview man mentioned below has been located.

An 82-year-old Lakeview man was reported missing late Wednesday night.

The Nassau County Police issued a silver alert around 10:30 p.m., seeking the public's help in locating Wilfred Walker, who was last seen on Tuesday at 418 Jefferson Ave. in Lakeview.

Walker is described as African American, 287 lbs., 5' 3" with gray hair and brown eye. His physical and mental condition is considered poor. He was wearing a white and green polo shirt, blue shorts, black sneakers and a baseball cap when he went missing.

Police say Walker may be heading to North Carolina. As a former Metropolian Transportation Authority employee, he is familiar with the railway system.

The Silver Alert Program has been established in order to disseminate immediate information to local media, hospitals and other organizations when a senior citizen or other individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or other cognitive disorders goes missing.
