Lynbrook Crime Report: Total Aquariums Theft, $20,000 Stolen from Car

A look at recent crime and arrests in the Lynbrook area.

The following information was supplied by the Lynbrook Police Department. A criminal charge is an accusation, and does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests

- On Nov. 4 at 9:25pm, Naeem A. Baig, 60, of Valley Stream, was arrested and charged with unlawfully dealing with a child for an incident that occurred at the In and Out Convenience Store, located at 118 Broadway. Police said that the clerk at the store sold alcohol to a person under the age of 21. 

Case Reports

Grand Larceny: At 1:30pm on Oct. 26, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) entered their unlocked 2014 Ford, which was parked in their driveway on Stuart St., and removed three gold rings and one Amazon Kindle. The value of the property is $3,200.

Grand Larceny: At 11:32pm on Oct. 27, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) removed a safe from the bedroom of the complainant’s residence located on Carpenter Ave. The safe contained $20,000. 

Criminal Mischief: At 2:10pm on Oct. 28, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) damaged their PVC fence, which is located on Leroy Pl. The fence is valued at $150.

Grand Larceny: At 11:50am on Oct. 29, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) cashed two fraudulent checks which used their Citibank Bank account numbers. The total amount of the checks is $9,453.53.

Grand Larceny: At 10:30am on Oct. 31, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) entered their locked 2014 Dodge rental vehicle, which was parked in their driveway on Calvin St., and removed $20,000 from the vehicle’s glove compartment.

Grand Larceny: At 9:30pm on Oct. 31, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) broke the passenger window of their 2005 Nissan vehicle, which was parked in the private parking area of Sportime located at 175 Merrick Rd. The complainant’s wallet, which contained their driver’s license, credit card and $20, was removed from the vehicle.

Petty Larceny: At 11:30pm on Nov. 1 the complainant, the owner of Total Aquariums located at 325 Sunrise Hwy., reports that an unknown person(s) removed an Eco-Tech pump from their store. The pump is valued at $450.
