Lynbrook F.D. Extracts Driver After Car Crash

Officials say vehicle hit a pole on Forest Avenue.

On Wednesday, the Lynbrook Fire Department responded to a reports of a car hitting a pole on Forest Avenue, just south of Sunrise Highway. 

Lynbrook volunteers — under the command of First Deputy Chief Michael Hynes — responded at about 5:30 p.m. with the Extrication Team and the Emergency Medical Company. The driver was suffering from cuts and bruises and a hip injury. 

Members of the Extrication Team had to cut off the driver's door to safely remove the driver on a stretcher. The driver was transported by the Medical Company ambulance to the hospital. Lynbrook police were also at the scene.
