Lynbrook PD: $10K in Property Stolen from Omega Storage

A weekly rundown of arrests and case reports from the Lynbrook Police Department.

The following information was supplied by the Lynbrook Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate guilt.

Arrests

  • On April 23 at 12:15 a.m., Justin A. Preval, 25, of Freeport, was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated unlicensed operation and improper lane usage on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.
  • On April 23 at 8:44 a.m., Darwin B. Rodriguez, 33, of East Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and improper left turn on Merrick Road in Lynbrook.
  • On April 23 at 2:47 p.m., Charles J. Bennett, 37, of Valley Stream, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and expired N.Y.S. inspection on Merrick Road in Lynbrook.
  • On April 23 at 7:50 p.m., Ahmed Zaghloul, 33, of Baldwin, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, speeding, failure to signal and uninsured motor vehicle on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.
  • On April 24 at 12:20 p.m., Guiseppe Celentano, 33, of North Bellmore, was arrested and charged with criminal contempt at 400 County Seat Drive in Mineola.
  • On April 26 at 11:20 p.m., Michael Valentino, 31, of Great Neck, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and three counts of an equipment violation on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.
  • On April 27 at 11:20 a.m., David R. Westerman, 65, of Baldwin, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and unsafe lane change on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.
Case Reports
  • Identity Theft: At 1:10 p.m. on April 19, a complainant reported that an unknown person(s) opened an account in their name and social security number with LIPA. The account has a balance of $150.  
  • Petit Larceny: At 2:35 p.m. on April 19, a complainant reported that their Canondale Bicycle was stolen from the bicycle rack located at the Lynbrook LIRR Station. The bicycle was taken between 5:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. on April 19. The value of the bicycle is $1,000.
  • Lost Property: At 3:14 p.m. on April 19, a complainant reported that they lost their Apple iPhone 4 in the vicinity of 111 Atlantic Ave. in Lynbrook. The value of the phone is $450.
  • Lost Property: At 11:56 p.m. on April 22, a complainant reported that they lost the N.Y.S. License Plate from their 2011 Suzuki motorcycle in the vicinity of Lynbrook.
  • Identity Theft: At 10:40 a.m. on April 26, a complainant reported that an unknown person(s) made charges on their Bank of America, HSBC and Chase credit cards. The total amount of the charges was unknown at the time of the report.  
  • Grand Larceny: At 11:48 a.m. on April 27, a complainant reported that an unknown person(s) removed assorted tools and property from their storage room at Omega Self Storage located at 630 Merrick Road in Lynbrook. The value of the items taken is $10,160. The items were removed between March 30 and April 27.
  • Grand Larceny: At 9:15 a.m. on April 29, the manager of Legacy Infiniti, located at 855 Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook, reports that an unknown person(s) entered their property and removed four tire and rims from a 2013 Infiniti G-37. The value of the tires and rims is $5,400. The tires and rims were taken between 9 p.m. and 11:08 p.m. on April 28.
  • Identity Theft: At 1:44 p.m. on April 29, a complainant reported that an unknown person(s) made charges on their Capital One Debit card. The charges were in the amount of $1,054.99.
