Lynbrook PD: 3 Arrested at Capri Motor Inn, Car Stolen

A weekly rundown of arrests and crimes reported in the village of Lynbrook

The following information was supplied by the Lynbrook Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate guilt. 

Arrests

  • Guillermo M. Comme, 23, of Valley Stream, was arrested on Nov. 26 at 10:50 p.m. and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and pperating a motor vehicle while using a handheld cell phone on Hempstead Avenue.
  • Stephen T. Lavenda, 48, of Freeport, was arrested on Nov. 27 at 2:20 p.m. and charged with three open warrants for trespass on Eldert Street.
  • Jing X. Shen, 52, of Flushing, was arrested on Nov. 28 at 7:15 p.m. and charged with unauthorized practice at 121A Broadway. The defendant, while employed as a massage therapist at Massage Center, allegedly performed a massage without being licensed by the State of New York.
  • Qing Ling Zhao, 48, of Flushing, was arrested on Nov. 28 at 7:15 p.m. and charged with unauthorized practice at 121A Broadway. The defendant, while employed as a massage therapist at Massage Center, allegedly performed a massage without being licensed by the State of New York.
  • Sheldon T. Mathis, 49, of Far Rockaway, was arrested on Nov. 29 at 5:20 p.m. and charged with assault on Sunrise Highway.
  • Joan J. Waters, 22, of Bangor, Penn., was arrested on Nov. 29 at 7:55 p.m. and charged with fugitive from justice on Sunrise Highway. The defendant had an open Pennsylvania Bench Warrant signed on Sept. 25, 2012 from the Court of Common Pleas, County of North Hampton.
  • Allen J. Barrington, 27, of Brooklyn, was arrested on Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. and charged with an open NYS Parole warrant for promoting prostitution and false personation at the Lynbrook Capri Motor Inn, located at 5 Freer St.
  • Corey J. Morgan, 28, of North Baldwin, was arrested on Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. and charged with two open warrants, one for robbery and one for petit larceny, at the Lynbrook Capri Motor Inn located at 5 Freer St.
  • Steve S. Figueroa, 24, of Rockville Centre, was arrested on Dec. 2 at 4:52 a.m. Oand charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Failure to Signal a Turn on Lakeview Avenue.
  • Jermel M. Fields, 39, of Hempstead, was arrested on Dec. 3 at 12:25 a.m. and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, an open warrant for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and Insufficient Stop Lamps on Sunrise Highway.
  • David K. Aronov, 20, of Flushing, was arrested on Dec. 3 at 3:24 p.m. and charged with Criminal Impersonation on Atlantic Avenue.
  • Karen Ann Lynster, 53, of Lynbrook, was arrested on Dec. 3 at 8:55 p.m. and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and Insufficient Headlights on Merrick Road.
  • Alexandra M. Alonso, 19, of Uniondale, was arrested on Dec. 3 at 9:10 p.m. and charged with prostitution at the Lynbrook Capri Motor Inn located at 5 Freer St.

Grand Larceny

  • At 8 a.m. on Nov. 19,  a complainant reports that an unknown person(s) took their 2011 Acura MDX while it was parked in front of 477 Merrick Rd. The value of the Acura is $30,000.

Petit Larceny

  • At 7:52 a.m. on Nov. 29, a complainant reports that an unknown person(s) entered their 2009 Subaru Legacy while it was parked in the parking area of 500 Merrick Rd. and removed $20 in cash and a pair of Oakley sunglasses valued at $200. 
  • At 5:15 p.m. on Nov. 29, a complainant reports that an unknown person(s) entered their 2009 Jeep Wrangler while it was parked in the parking area of 484 Merrick Rd. and removed a Garmin GPS unit, a black North Face backpack and a prescription bottle. The total loss is valued at $350.
