Lynbrook PD: Repair Shop Shuts Down, Steals Car

Arrests

  • On July 16 at 12 a.m., Francis Cavalluzzo, 19, of Coram, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of marijuana on Railroad Avenue in Lynbrook.

  • On July 16 at 12 a.m., Joel Medina, 20, of Coram, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of marijuana on Railroad Avenue in Lynbrook.

  • On July 17 at 11:20 a.m., Rabia Issa, 30, of Farmingville, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, aggravated unlicensed operation, leaving the scene of an incident and use employer’s vehicle without a interlock device on Hamilton Street in Lynbrook.

  • On July 18 at 12:51 a.m., Ladonna L. Jones. 23, of Valley Stream, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, unlawful possession of marijuana and equipment violations on Merrick Road in Lynbrook.

  • On July 18 at 6:17 a.m., Michael R. Dipresso, 32, of Lynbrook, was arrested and charged with criminal mischief on Starks Place in Lynbrook.

  • On July 18 at 7:30 p.m., Terrance M. Jones, 27, of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance at 1200 Old Country Road in Westbury.

  • On July 20 at 4:40 p.m., Jonathan A. Bute, 24, of Valley Stream, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, uninsured motor vehicle and operate a motor vehicle without a seat belt on Merrick Road in Lynbrook.

  • On July 21 at 11:11 p.m., Luis Castro, 47, of Lynbrook, was arrested and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and forcible touching on Vincent Avenue in Lynbrook.

  • Case Reports

    • Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle: At 1:35 p.m. on July 14, a complainant reported that their 2003 Land Rover was dropped off at Dealer Alternative, located at 675 Merrick Road in Lynbrook, for engine repair. The complainant attempted to contact Dealer Alternative for an update but received no answer by phone. Upon driving to the location, the complainant found the repair shop no longer open for business.

    • Petit Larceny: At 10:45 a.m. on July 15, a physician with Long Island Neurology Consultants, located at 777 Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook, reported that a prescription pad was taken from their office.

    • Criminal Mischief: At 3:10 p.m. on July 15, the owner of Synergy Fitness Club, located at 640 Merrick Road in Lynbrook, reported that ten locker doors were damaged in the men’s locker room. The total amount of the damage was $3,000.

  • Burglary: At 1:51 p.m. on July 20, the complainant reported that an unknown person(s) entered their residence, located at 23 Blossom Heath Ave. in Lynbrook, through an unlocked rear door. The complainant reports that five watches, a 14k gold ring, a 14k necklace and charm were taken from their residence. The total amount of the loss was $1,290.
