Lynbrook Tumblers Take 2 Trophies in State Fire Drill Competition

Break team record in hose event.

The Lynbrook Volunteer Fire Department's drill team accomplished a personal best Friday night during the 2012 New York State Old-Fashioned tournament.

Competing against nearly 20 other teams from across Long Island at the course in Hempstead, the Tumblers took second place in the "Two Into One" hose drill, clocking a team record of 8.95 seconds.

Lynbrook also won a third-place trophy in the "Buckets" event, which they finished in 28.15 seconds.

The Tumblers placed fourth in "Running Ladder" with a time of 8.29 seconds, 36 seconds behind the , who took first in that event.

Among all the Old-Fashioned teams in Nassau and Suffolk counties, Lynbrook is currently ranked seventh overall for the season with only a few tournaments remaining on the schedule.
