UPDATE: Malverne Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Unveil New Ambulance on Nov. 23

The new ambulance features a number of new upgrades and features.

Update: Due to the funeral of Malverne firefighter Charles Bruce this Saturday at 9am, the ambulance dedication ceremony has been moved to 3 p.m. from the original 12 p.m. time. 

The Malverne Volunteer Ambulance Corps recently announced that it has purchased its first new ambulance in over 17 years and will unveil and dedicate it in a ceremony at the Corps headquarters on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 3 p.m.

The new ambulance is equipped with airbags in the patient compartment to provide safety for patients and attendants, an electronic circuit board that will control oxygen supply, suction, lights, and numerous other features, the Corps announced in a press release.

Other features include two temperature-controlled cabinets for all medications, and brighter LED lighting and reflective paint to provide a greater measure of safety on night calls. 

The new ambulance will be dedicated to Malverne VAC members past and present, the release said.

The Malverne Volunteer Ambulance Corps Headquarters is located at 11 Hempstead Ave. in Malverne. The Corps has served residents of Malverne, Malverne Park, North Lynbrook and North Valley Stream since 1968.
