Man Shot in Lakeview, Cops Still Searching for Gunman

A 22-year-old man was shot in the leg Saturday morning. Police are still looking for attacker.

Nassau County Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in Lakeview early Saturday morning, which left one man injured.

The shot was fired around 1a.m. on Jan. 22 on Woodfield Road across from Clinton Avenue, according to cops.

Detectives say a 22-year-old man was waiting for a bus at this location when three unknown subjects exited a car and approached him. One of them pulled out a handgun and shot the victim in the right leg, then the threesome got back into the vehicle and fled north on Woodfield Road.

A Nassau County ambulance transported the victim to an area hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The assailant and the two other subjects are still at large. They were each wearing all dark clothing and dark masks covering their faces at the time of the assault. No other description is available at this time.
