Police: 13-Year-Old on Bike Struck, Killed by Car in West Hempstead
Teen struck while attempting to cross Eagle Avenue Wednesday afternoon, police say.
A teen was killed Wednesday afternoon when she was hit by a car while riding her bicycle in West Hempstead, police said.
The 13-year-old was riding south on Park Avenue and attempting to cross Eagle Avenue when she was struck by a Cadillac that was traveling west on Eagle Avenue at 3:03 p.m., police said.
The teen was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced dead at 3:57 p.m., police said.Police said they are not identifying the victim at the request of her family.
The 24-year-old female driver of the Cadillac will not face any criminal charges in the crash, police said.
