Police: Guitar Teacher Had Sex With 15-Year-Old Student

Yoel Gonzalez, 27, is charged with rape after police say he engaged in a sexual relationship with a girl he had been giving guitar lessons to.

A Valley Stream man was arrested Thursday night after police discovered that he had been engaged in a sexual relationship with a minor who he had been giving guitar lessons to, police said.

Yoel Gonzalez, 27, worked at Bracco Music Center in 2009 when he began giving lessons to a 13-year-old girl, police said.

The lessons were usually held inside Bracco’s, but eventually Gonzalez and the girl began to socialize outside of the music center, located at 236 Rockaway Avenue in Valley Stream, police said.

Gonzalez, who ended his employment with Bracco's, continued to give lessons to the girl privately in her home, police said.

The relationship continued for approximately two years, police said. Information regarding the relationship surfaced, police said, and Gonzalez was located and placed under arrest without incident.
